The SRJC Student Outreach team acknowledges the great depth of experience and expertise held by our high school partners. This page represents an outline of our best practices for providing outreach opportunities at your sites. This, combined with the JumpStart Program, is our guide for a comprehensive annual outreach plan for each school. Individual needs are accommodated as preferred by the school.
Please see below for a general overview of the typical in-person plan for SRJC outreach, and who to contact to schedule visits to your school. Use this as a guide for making decisions about outreach services that might be scheduled for your school. In-person workshops and presentations are considered best practice, but virtual modalities can be provided as an alternative if needed.

Seniors Presentations are an overview of the student onboarding steps, various student services programs/departments, the differences between high school and college, and much more. College Nights/Parent Information Nights include this and information about majors and certificate programs, transferring to a 4-year college/university, graduation requirements for an AA degree, and other information that parents might be interested in. College Fairs are tabling events where SRJC staff are available to talk one-on-one with students and their parents/guardians about the opportunity to attend college and the programs and services SRJC offers.
Best Practices for Students
- Have and use an email account for college applications and communications. Know your login and password.
- Do not use parent email on the application for admission.
- When applying know your Social Security Number if you have one.
- Bring your cell phone to the application workshop if you need to call for support with the CCCApply process.
