Create Your Future at SRJC

Getting a good start in high school is just as important as staying strong while you're in the midst of it. Here are a few tips to keep in mind to be successful in high school, which has a big impact on success in college:

Stay Strong in High School
  • Select your high school and concurrent college classes carefully, keeping in mind your after-high school plans. Work with your high school counselor to determine the best plan for you.
  • Grades matter - it's all about Math and English.
  • Maintaining a cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher will qualify you to apply for the prestigious Doyle Scholarship.
  • Get involved in high school: clubs, athletics, leadership, the arts...there are many opportunities. Find something that interests you.
  • Stay tuned for announcements about SRJC presentations or representatives. Be sure to attend presentations, or search out SRJC representatives when they are on your high school campus.
  • If your high school has a College and Career Center, be sure to get well-acquainted with it. Use the resources and services provided! Students who have chosen a career path or a college major are much more likely to be successful in college.
Take care of business
  • Email is the official communication tool for college (as well as most employers). If you don't already have one, sign up for an email account.
  • Create a Resume, and update it throughout your high school years with any work, volunteer, or student involvement activities.
Your log-in information
Be sure to keep your SRJC student portal log-in information in a safe place for future reference. If you need help with retrieving your log-in information, follow the steps below:

I do not know my ID number or my PIN Code, how can I get it?

  • Go to SRJC Login Portal.
  • On the right side, click “Student Login Help”.
  • Choose the login information to recover.
  • The program will take you to a page and will ask for some information.
  • Press the “Retrieve” button.

An email containing your ID Number or Pin Code will be sent to the email address currently on file with SRJC. Now is a really good time to be sure you are using your own email address rather than your parents' email address.
