While at SRJC, Juan has committed his life to promoting higher education and improving the lives of first-generation and low-income students. Juan is originally from Mexico City and has been living in Sonoma County since 1994. Juan lived most of his young life in Mexico City and moved to the United States after finishing Middle School. Juan arrived in Napa, California in 1987 when he was fourteen years old and he attended Vintage High School. After graduating from high school in 1991, his experience was so positive and rich with so many incredible possibilities and opportunities – all of the sports, academics, and activities offered to students – he decided to continue his education in an American college. Juan is a former student-athlete (soccer & tennis) and graduates from Napa Valley College & Sonoma State University (B.A. in Management).
